**CHARLI'S ICE SHOW TOUR DIARIES**

Over the coming months we'll be posting small diary entries from former Club member and competitive skater Charlotte Kennedy. 'Charli' has recently turned professional and has offered to share an insight into life on tour with an Ice Show.

Part 1: How it all began..........

"I always dreamed of becoming a professional show skater and travel the world but at the age of 17 at the peak of my competitive career i never intended to be finished with competing so young, although I was desperate to be off with a show.
I heard that 'Disney On Ice' was performing in my home town Birmingham, England so i checked out tickets on their website. Next thing I know I was emailing the casting director for audition information!
Meanwhile, whilst competing at the Welsh Championships trying to qualify for the British Junior Championships I'd received an email for a live audition the following week but didn't give much thought to it.
The audition was 2 hours long but loads of fun and I felt really comfortable with everything I was asked to do and nothing was outside of my ability range. The following week I had an email offering me a place on Disney's 'High School Musical the Ice Tour'!!
Instantly accepting the offer I had to break the news to my coaches. I was pretty scared about doing so to be honest.
So my first tour with Disney was touring Europe with 'HSM' from November until May after which I was sent to work on Disney's 'Princess Classics' show which also toured Europe.
As for rehearsals I travelled to Lisbon, Portugal to learn the whole 'High School Musical' show in a hotel...off-ice...in a small room...in just 2 days! This was hard work and stressful learning show numbers in such little time to then be put on ice the next night in the actual show. But performing to around 6000 people in my first show was the most amazing experience I have ever, and maybe will ever, experience. I knew I had made the right decision. I always loved to perform to as many people as possible so my dream was now a reality."

Charli's next diary entry will be with us soon as she experiences the USA!
